New enterprise-level blogging tool announced

To address the need for a better enterprise level blogging tool, software developer Six Apart, Ltd. recently introduced a new blogging software that has been specifically designed for enterprise level usage.The new application, called Movable Type Enterprise, is being touted to offer an effective way for companies to improve their internal communications as well as the sharing of information and knowledge. The new software is quite affordable which would easily entice companies to replace their other software tools that are being used to perform similar collaboration and content management processes.

A license for the software costs $4,000 and customers are given the option of paying an additional $2,000 annually for customer support. The support cost will also include product updates and a two-hour response time to any inquiries or questions.

Movable Type Enterprise also includes support Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, Oracle 10g database support, user interface customization as well as feeds that will notify administrators and authors of blog activity.

According to Six Apart, Movable Type Enterprise will also contain a slew of new features that were also unveiled last Wednesday. The features are introduced in the new 3.3 version of Movable Type. Among these new features are tag support, a widget manager, incorporation of activity log for administrators and the power to make customized search result pages. The new features are in the realm of aesthetics as administrators can now also choose from hundreds of page designs.

Various enterprises are now using blogs in order to promote worker collaboration and also make project management more effective.
